London SME Mullarch makes $34m thanks to Enterprise Europe Network


Company makes large deals following support from EEN London

 

After receiving support from Enterprise Europe Network advisor Chris Farmakis in London, Mullarch have made two deals worth $2m and $32m .

After working with big brands such as Kellogg’s, Mars and Jaguar Land Rover, and across the Middle East and East Africa, Mullarch was well placed to grow from its well-regarded 40 years’ experience in FMCG, mid-size trade finance and logistics operations.

Mullarch’s ambition to expand into energy and physical commodities trading led them to seek support from Chris in London.

In addition to sourcing credible suppliers that can provide reliable feeds, Mullarch also requested support in understanding the physical logistics and specific attributes and characteristics of the products being transacted (both the physical products and also the financial instruments).

The Enterprise Europe Network in London was capable of sourcing several suppliers and operated alongside Mullarch personnel for the assessment and subsequent selection of preferred suppliers. Using the power of the Network, Chris was able to:

  1. Identify a supplier from Cyprus that has been able to provide Gasoil at competitive rates
  2. Source suppliers of Sugar from the Far East and South America at competitive rates
  3. Connect Mullarch to shipping companies from Greece
  4. Access insurance services from London insurers
  5. Find appropriate structured finance between UAE and UK based banks to facilitate the financial transaction
  6. Provide an FX services provider to further improve the transaction costs of Mullarch
