The European Commission has launched an open public consultation, to help it to update consumer protection policy, in order to tackle the new challenges brought about by the shift of many consumer activities online and the rising importance of environmental issues.  It also wants to look at the issues of proper enforcement of consumer rights and protecting vulnerable consumers.

As well as covering these elements of overall consumer policy strategy, the survey asks for companies’ opinions on potential reviews of the existing rules on consumer credit and general product safety.

So, if you are affected as a business by policies to protect consumers, the European Commission would like to hear your views.

If you would like to find out more, or take part in this consultation, please contact our enquiry line on 0300 123 3144 or email contact@enterprise-europe.co.uk

This consultation closes: 6th October 2020
