Do you feel having medicine product information available electronically would make it more accessible for you?

How would you feel about this as a producer?

Currently every single medicine authorised in the EU contains product information on the medicine in the box, assisting healthcare professionals in prescribing and dispensing and informing patients and consumers about safe use.  This information can also be found, mainly as a pdf document, on the regulators’ websites.

Together with the European Medical Agency and the heads of national medicines agencies, the European Commission has launched a consultation on the key principles that would form the basis of electronic product information for human medicines.

The Commission claims that electronic product information could help better meet patients and healthcare professionals needs, in terms of accessibility, and provide up-to-date information on medicines at the point of need. Do you agree?

You will find more detailed information about the key principles here:  EMA product information on human medicines EU - draft key principles_en.pdf

To take part in this consultation and submit your comments on these key principles via an online form, or for further information, please contact our enquiry line on 0300 123 3144 or e-mail with views and contact details to contact@enterprise-europe.co.uk

Consultation closes: 31 July 2019
