Electric, Connected & Autonomous Vehicles Mission to Holland

Innovate UK and Enterprise Europe Network are offering UK businesses and research institutions who are involved in the Electric, Connected & Autonomous Vehicles sectors to join them on a mission to the Netherlands.  This mission will offer those looking to submit a bid for Horizon 2020 funding the opportunity to meet other like-minded partners to form the necessary consortium to apply.

The mission takes place on 17th and 18th May 2018 at the Automotive Campus in Helmond, the international meeting point and place of business for automotive technology and smart mobility in the Netherlands.  The event will focus on electric vehicles, autonomous driving and transport infrastructure, and aims to connect technology and business interests for partnerships of mutual interest and topics for Horizon 2020 calls.

Horizon 2020 still represents a great opportunity for UK businesses and research organisations. The UK Government has guaranteed funding for UK participants where the project application is submitted before the UK exits the EU and is subsequently approved after exit.

Significant opportunities exist for UK companies in the connected and autonomous vehicle sectors. The recently-released Automated Vehicles Readiness Index (AVRI) report by auditing firm KPMG, revealed that the Netherlands is the world’s most autonomous vehicle-ready country, largely attributed to its AV-friendly infrastructure and well-maintained road network. The Netherlands boasts the highest density of electric vehicle charging points in the world, already offering more than 27,000 charging points for the public.

Mission participants will have the opportunity to hear from influential speakers from both the UK and the Netherlands, and the chance to network with peers in this important and topical sector. Travel grants are also available (terms and conditions apply).

Innovate UK are providing travel grants for eligible participants. Please be aware that the budget for travel grants is limited and not everyone that applies is likely to be successful.

There will be a selection process, and so registering does not guarantee a place on the mission. If you are interested in joining this mission, please contact eeninfo@emc-dnl.co.uk by 5pm on Monday 16th April 2018.
