Polish manufacturer of steel structures and equipment offers bespoke products under manufacturing agreement
A Polish company active in the steel industry is offering to manufacture custom-made steel structures and equipment. The firm can provide various products such as cranes, lifts, masts, gripping devices, processing lines and parts thereof. Their products are of particular interest to the shipbuilding, energy, automotive, construction and the wind power industries. The company is interested in the cooperation under manufacturing agreement or subcontracting.
Partner expertise sought
A company from north-west Poland has been operating in the steel industry since 1990. The firm specialises in the production of structures and equipment for the shipbuilding, energy, automotive and the construction industries. Their products are sold internationally (Scandinavia, Germany, USA). The firm's cooperation with foreign partners has resulted in the production of new types of equipment for the wind power industry (on- and offshore). The firm is offering to manufacture bespoke (steel) structures and equipment. They can provide e.g.: - service lifts; - wind-speed measuring masts; - gripping devices, i.e. for lifting and installing blades in wind turbines; - cranes; - elements of processing lines, especially for the aluminium and iron foundries; - and parts thereof. The firm can manufacture products with mechanical and hydraulic components, weighing up to 20 tonnes and ones that require a lot of machining. Their capabilities allow them to produce around 60 tonnes of structures and equipment monthly (slightly less in the case of sophisticated, labour-intensive products). The company can also provide maintenance of production machines. The firm would like to increase its production volumes and fully utilise existing capacities. Therefore, it is offering cooperation in the form of manufacturing agreement or subcontracting.Under manufacturing agreement, a partner should specify a type of product that he requires and share information that is necessary to make it, either a detailed design or general requirements regarding its size, functionalities and other properties. Under subcontracting, a potential partner is expected to engage the firm in his projects by delegating tasks involving the production of steel structures or equipment. His responsibility will be also to provide a specification (detailed or more general description) of the products so that the company knows what to build. In turn, the firm will assemble raw materials needed to manufacture requested products, will make them according to the arrangments and, if requested, deliver, install and test them in a place selected by a partner.
Advantages and innovations
- experienced staff that has been working together for a long time; - the firm can provide durable products made of S690 (high strength) steel; - the company can manufacture prototypes, technically and/or economically optimise production of the final products and provide their technical documentation; - the company offers both job and mass production; - the firm can manufacture steel structures and equipment that have mechanical and/or hydraulic components; - the firm can supply very sophisticated products that require precision machining (i.e. unusually-shaped products with a lot of details), that most manufacturers wouldn't attempt to make because they are too challenging and/or too labour-intensive (time-consuming). - the company can offer better prices than its competitors, thanks to relatively low labour costs in Poland.
