Partnering opportunity

Innovative platform backed by Blockchain technology for improving the food traceability process

A Spanish technology-based SME has developed a novel platform backed by Blockchain technology for improving food traceability process. This platform makes possible that agrofood key players (retailers, distributors, producers, restaurants) can record data as well as any transformation and outputs of their products. The SME is interested in getting in contact with final users in the fields of agriculture and food management for commercial agreements with technical assistance.

Partner sought

The Spanish SME is interested in getting in contact with final users of the agrofood industry like farmers, food retailers, food distributors and restaurants. The final user will provide information about his specific needs for a right implementation of the technology. The Spanish developer will give maintenance and technical assistance once the technology is deployed and implemented.

According to WHO (World Health Organization ) research, it is estimated that around 600 million people become sick due to contaminated food in the world each year - that’s almost 1 in every 10 people - and even an estimated 420,000 die from this reason. Current food registration and traceability processes do not meet the standards of 21st century consumers. The average tracking time of the total journey of a production batch takes around 20 to 29 days. A Southern Spanish SME has developed an IT platform backed by Blockchain technology to respond in a more efficient way to the food traceability process needs. Through this solution, the agrofood sector operators can not only record data, but also any transformation and outputs of their products. This can be done with just one device with internet access. How the systems works 1. The barcode / QR is scanned and it is selected the production batch to find out more information. 2. Discover more information about products, such as nutritional information, allergy information, discounts, promotions, related products and videos. 3. Check the route of food, the standards and quality certificates used by the participants in the supply chain. 4. Find products and offers near by, using the Smart tags. The Spanish SME is interested in getting in contact with final users of the Agrofood Industry for commercial agreements with technical assistance. Technical service will be provided for first stage implementation. Afterwards, maintenance and technical support will be given for a right use and exploitation of the technology.

Advantages and innovations

Advantages - This technology saves time and resources when taking records and performing audits. - More information about products can be shared with customers and consumers. - Full guarantee of authenticity of the product. - Monetizable thanks to business micro marketing campaigns based on the traceability process through segmented promotions aimed at consumers. Innovations - Tracks production batches in real time, from their origin to their destination. - Thanks to the consensus algorithm, this technology can produce blocks much faster than the competition. - Used protocol allows to produce free blocks. Currently, most of the competitors have an operating cost of around 10 and 50 cents (€) per share. - User interface design focuses on the user’s experience. This contributes to simplify processes and optimize traceability tasks. - Companies don´t need to further spend money on modifying packaging, neither will they need to add new barcodes to use this technology. This platform works on the original branding of the product. - Capability of integration with IoT (Internet of things) devices and other traceability softwares through the API (Application program interface) of this technology.

How it works

  • Tell us about yourself
  • We’ll discuss with you
  • We put the right partners in touch

EEN help you find the right partner, rather than you going it alone.

Our role is to review and collate the most suitable submissions, and then send them to the client who posted the opportunity. We consult with you, and the client, to make the process professional and easy.

These are live opportunities. Your registration of interest on the site is just like a professional approach to a business at a networking event. To stand the best chance of success, make your submission really sing. Sell why the client who posted the opportunity should work with you. Excite them. Ask questions. Try and avoid copy and pasting words from elsewhere.

Once the client has chosen their partner, we'll introduce them over email and keep in touch with both parties to see how it's going. Sometimes things progress quickly. Sometimes because of changing priorities for either party, things progress slowly, but you never know - your next big business break could start right here.
